Sears Catalog

I can remember (oh no, here I go again) pouring over the Sears catalog that came in the mail. The fall one was spectacular - the clothes were so stylish, I wanted them all for back-to-school. Of course we shopped at K-mart for all our back to school needs, but that's a story for another day.

This past Saturday we decided to drive to Adamstown and visit Schupp's Grove. We haven't been there in awhile and there was a slight break in the weather so we decided to head on out. I'm so glad that we did. I found this reproduction Sears Catalog for a quarter. Living in a Sears House I just couldn't pass it up! The illustrations are terrific. Don't cha think?

I found a few more goodies that I'll share later this week. Hope you are all having a wonderful day and staying cool!

Certainly THIS is not the vintage catalog you remember! But I too remember the Sears catalog, especially the toys section at Christmas time. I would study that forever!

I remember the vintage Sears and Roebuck catalogs also, but NOT that far back! :-D Especially the Christmas wish book - I wanted one of everything. :-D

Wow, Leann, that's cool you found an old Sears catalog. Did you go thrift store shopping or yard sales? Good for you! Can't say as I ever did Sears catalog shopping but I know a lot of people did. Susan

The Sears catalog...loved it and most especially at Christmas time, though I do remember looking for back to school clothes. Mine were often purchased at The Fantastic Fair or Grants or Mammoth Mart or King's. Remember any of those chains long gone now?

How cool! I used to love looking at the Christmas edition of the Sears catalog. How I longed for all the toys I didn't have like a child sized kitchen, a big dollhouse, a canopy bed... I was a greedy child!

Good morning Leann, I too remember drooling over the fall clothes wishing...with my eyes tightly closed...that I would get some of those new clothes for school. It was wonderful looking at each page...wishing...
Hahaha....those were the days alright. I loved it. Sounds like you had fun. It has been very hot here as well.
Blessings,
Debbie

My great aunt was an elegant farm lady, and she would have been 17 years old when this catalog was printed. I pour over pictures of that time because I want to know what she saw and wore and might have been doing.

You are one lucky dog to have this catalog and for a quarter!!!! Enjoy it; I'm sure it's a winner.
