Handmade Graduation Card

I can't believe that May is over. Our Memorial Day weekend was pretty relaxing. It started a little early for me - our company closed at 3pm on Friday as a surprise! Yeah!!! Saturday we got up around 6am (trying to beat the heat) and headed to Renninger's in Kutztown. There weren't that many vendors there, but I did get a hot dog with sauerkraut for breakfast:)

From there we headed to Shupp's Grove in Adamstown and I got a few small things to create with. Honestly, there weren't that many vendors there either. We thought a holiday weekend would be packed, but I guess not.

We were home by noon and got some yard work, housework and grocery shopping done. Sunday, my brother invited us up for ribs - yumm! He makes the best ribs. I made a big pan of mac and cheese to go with the ribs and a blueberry crumb cheesecake for dessert.

Monday we just putzed around here and there - nothing special. I cleaned my studio and got my swap together for Jane. I'm hoping to get it in the mail today. I'll share photos later this week of what I'm sending.

Oh, if you're wondering about the card in the photos, Tom asked me to make a graduation card for him. The 3-d medallion on the front made it impossible to fit into a regular envelope so I created a gusseted pocket.

How did you spend the holiday?

Love your card Leann!.. and I'm thinking we must be kindred spirits. Hot dogs with sauerkraut and cheesecake! Homemade mac and cheese is my all time very favorite!! YUMMMMM! Everything sounds so good! (but the hot dog and saurkraut for BREAKFAST??!!.. Oh my gosh.. You're on your OWN there! LOL!) Anyways, we went to the pool at my daughter's place on Monday, for a little while, but the rest of the day was so HOT, we just sat in front of the fans for any relief we could GET! It's going to be another HOT one today, but tomorrow will cool right back down again, and I'm looking forward to that. There are no cookies, cakes, or muffins in this house, and that's just not right!.. So, I've got some baking to do! ~tina

That's a very nice graduation card! I wonder why there weren't more venders? Maybe the economy? Here is is soooo hot, so unusual for this time of year... so you don't see people out much unless they have to be. Have a great week!

Hi Leann...Nice card! Your barbecue menu sounded yummy, too.

It was a super holiday weekend here. Saw a wonderful musical production of "Chicago"; visited graves of loved ones; did an open house of a very old house built in 1831, and had a barbecue. Fun fun fun weekend. Thanks for asking. Susan
