The Road Trip

I wanted to document last Friday's road trip to the Green Dragon. But it seems that my camera had other ideas. And no, I didn't snap any photos while driving, I was always completely stopped.

I usually bring my own coffee if Mr. OP isn't with me, with a few bottles of water and apples for snacking.

The most direct and quickest route is by PA turnpike. I only went to the next exit, but in the morning with school buses, etc. it would have taken me a lot longer on the back roads. I did come home the scenic route, but because my camera battery died right after this shot, you'll have to wait until I go again to see some of that.

I've since re-charged the camera battery (obviously) and snapped a quick photo of this great birthday gift from my dear friend. It's perfect isn't it? I love the pumpkin mat and how she filled the colander with gourds. This arrangement will last from now until Thanksgiving - LOVE IT!

Speaking of Thanksgiving, can you believe that it's next month? I can, and I can't wait! The holidays are my favorite time of year! I enjoy the planning for each and every aspect - like you didn't know that. I just ordered an aero bed for our Texans to sleep on when there here in December. We had an old "blow-up mattress, but have you ever tried to sleep on one of those? I'm still not ready to buy a queen bed for our spare room, so this will work perfectly (I think). I'll let you know what they say.

I'm headed to the Doctor's again today so I'll give you an update later. Enjoy your day sweet friends!

Cameras and their batteries can prove maddening. I try to have a spare set at all times. Try being the operative word.

Yes, your friend knows you very well and has given you a perfect gift for The Old Parsonage.

What a cute mat, colander and gourd arrangement. :-)

Best of luck with learning more, at your doc appointment today!!!

Gentle hugs,

The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.
The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on."

how disappointing about your camera...but it sounds like a good trip. BTW I like your new header. You and I both love that blue and gray pottery, whatever it's called! It reminds me of Wmsburg for some reason. Maybe I got some there one time. As far as the flip flops--probably no one noticed but you! Hope you are feeling better!

I have no idea where autumn has gone. Ovewhelmed and out of control -- but glad you had fun!
