Does anyone else feel this way? I'm usually cool, calm and collected, and it's not like I have a ton to do. I have everything done except my cookie trays. I have about 20 to make and most people need them by Sunday with a few throughout next week. Although the later ones don't give me extra time, I have to have everything done by Sunday since those trays need to have everything on them anyway.
I keep a running total of how many cookies I've made of each kind and how many should go on each tray (large and small). Yesterday and today I made double batches of peanut butter, chocolate chip, chocolate crinkles and snicker doodles. Plus a triple batch of peanut brittle and a double batch of of peppermint bark.
I'm right on schedule, but feel so far behind. I even finished early tonight, have had my bath and have time to blog. So it's not time that has me frazzled...I think that there's so much that I want to do and I feel that I don't have time to do it. Why do I have to work? It gets in the way of everything:) That's a good 9hrs out of my day that I could be doing something that I want to do.
Two weeks from today and our Texans will be home! I can't wait to see them, but you knew that didn't you?! Anyone watching all the Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel this month?
They have those sappy-you-can-figure-out-the-ending-immediately Christmas movies running continuously. I usually wouldn't watch these kinds of movies, but at Christmas I LOVE them!
You know what? I feel better already... after pouring my feelings out to you, that and watching one of those sappy movies. You know what else? I'm hungry. I wolfed down my dinner so quickly that I don't think my stomach registered me eating. That or I'm just hungry. And no, I haven't touched anything that I baked. I get tired of seeing and smelling everything. So what are you all busy doing?

When I read what you said about "why do I have to work", I laughed. I always say that "if I didn't have to work, I would have so much time for all the things that I really want to do". Or "work just gets in the way of everything else I want to do"
If only we didn't have to work....

Hi Leann, Wow, I wish I had some of that baking behind me. I can almost smell those cookies. I love all your Christmas vignettes, just gorgeous. You have a gift for decorating no doubt. I am so not on my schedule with so much left to do. We have family coming home for Christmas and entertaining friends so I just enjoy making the house festive.

Hi Leann! YES, I feel this way, even with my new Christmas Countdown planner all put together, I'm afraid I didn't follow the guidelines to the letter, by any means! But at least I know I have it ready for next year, right?!.. At the moment, I'm trying to find a place for three nativity sets. I'm having a little trouble, but I'm DETERMINED!.. All the cookies you made so far sound GOOD! I'm behind on that too, but hope to get some done over the weekend. This past weekend was my birthday, so I got NOTHING done the whole two days!! I SO-ooo envy people with birthdays in June or July!!!.. Well, keep your calm, and just do what you CAN.. No OVER-doing! ENJOY your holiday season! (And I'll do my best to do the same!! LOL!) ~tina
Well... NEXT year I will make a lot of these gifts ahead of time! I keep telling myself that... So that I'll be able to do more enjoying of the season rather than hole up in my bedroom sewing...
I've got a bunch to do before Saturday. It'll be interesting...

My goodness, what a mammoth baking to undertake (I wouldn't know where to start!) and after all of that you've done all the decorations as well! They look wonderful.

I just love all the baking this time of year! I've been busy at it too but haven't got to watch the lifetime movies. We've been knee deepen cartoon Xmas specials around here.

My book club is celebrating Christmas this week and we're having a cookie exchange - oh man - all those holiday calories!
I felt behind schedule all season long! But my hubby and son say it's the best Christmassy season ever - so am glad to know it's not just me.
I swear I could write one of those movies -- you could, too! Widow (or widower), maybe divorcee or lonely overworked single woman or man jaded from lost love. Possibly a child. Or a dog. Maybe displaced -- new city, stranger in a strange land, kindly locals or skeptical locals. Joy. Snow. Love! And yes, I watch them, I cry, I'm embarrassed because I've seen the same ones (over and over)!
I'm doing cookies and nuts this weekend. Fingers crossed it will all happen!
