In the Studio

Even though there are still things that need to be tended to downstairs I decided to come up to the studio for a bit. It actually gave me some inspiration for a post. As I frantically finished the scrapbooks for the guys I didn't clean up as a I went along so the studio is somewhat neglected. My desktop is a complete mess. I'll need to sort and put things away before I begin any new projects.

I have a lot of cards to make for birthdays this month and thank yous that are overdue from Christmas so this has to be a priority tonight.

As I was snapping away I noticed that I have a lot of pink in here - no surprises there right? And no, I haven't been making Valentine's yet - this is just where the ones that didn't get finished in time for last year landed.

I liked how they looked so I kept them up all year. It adds romance to the "scary man" as all the kids refer to him. They all think he's creepy. I kinda like him, but wouldn't mind putting a piece of chalkboard into the frame either.

Mr OP turns 50 this year and doesn't want a big fuss made. So I'm thinking that 50 days before his big day that I'll start giving him small presents - 1each day.

When I say small I'm talking a box of raisinets, a fishing magnet, things that he likes but aren't a lot of money. Or anything 50 or 1962 related, so if you have any ideas I'd love to hear them. I just want to make the time leading up to the big day fun! I have a few ideas for the big day mulling around but no party - that's a definite NO.

I'm playing along with Beverly's Pink Saturday this week. With so much pink in this post how could I not. Enjoy your weekend sweet friends!

Glad that you found your way to your studio. I don't think that scary man is one bit scary. He looks like a really nice guy. I remember those Valentines from last year! So cute! You'll have a head start this year. Good idea to give your hubby little things. He'll love that. No party? He sounds like me. Still, I hope that the family knows how to party.

Just last week I cleaned off my craft desk and went through all my crafting bins to declutter them. Now I know where everything is instead of having to turn everything upside down looking for something! lol

Sounds like you'll be busy making birthday cards, they always turn out so beautifully.

Such a great idea to give your hubby a little something every day for the 50 days before his birthday. Do you have one of those stores that sell old fashioned candies from the 50's & 60's? If so, that would be an idea, to get him candies that would bring back memories of his childhood:-) xoxo

Love all that stuff!

My brother-in-law just turned 50 and his wife had a cake made with lots of black hills and a little car almost at the top of one of them. But we love to pick on him...

Good luck! I'm sure you'll think of something amazing!

What a sweet loving idea to gift your Sweetie every day...mine would be happy with a Reece's every day .

Let's see, you could do socks and other unmentionables, new razor...never mind..those are getting so expensive...HiHoney even uses the cheaper throw aways. Anyway, all your Pinks are neat...be sure and show us some of your cards. Yours are always so pretty and thoughtful! Happy Pink Saturday!

I love the Bingo Valentine's tags.

Your ornate frame is wonderful. I could see the chalkboard paint would be perfect for it.

Your birthday ideas for your husband are fantastic!

What a cute idea, for your husband's 50th Birthday!!!!! But wow, you are going to have to get creative, with 50 little things, to think up. :-)

Well, you can always resort to boxes of raisins or some such, if he like raisins. -gigggles-

P.S. And no I don't know what my quote is about! LOL
