How many games of BINGO does someone need you ask? Well I buy any BINGO and Scrabble games that I see when we're out junquing. I love to use the letters and the cards for my paper crafts. A lot of new scrapbook lines make reproductions of these game pieces, but I prefer to use the real thing.
I'm always on the look out for vintage goodies like the small tart tins above. They are so easy to turn into Christmas ornies. Speaking of Christmas...see how easily I can bring up the subject of Christmas:)
Happy Rudolph Day (the 25th of each month)! The weather has turn cold and windy again, so I'm sitting here with a hot cup of coffee while I look at my list. I'm trying to decide what handmade gifts I'll make this year.
Magical Holiday Home has a lot of great craft ideas if you're looking for something fun. Deciding early in the year makes it easier to find the items (that you'll need to create your gifts) on sale. It's also an excuse to make another list:)
I'll probably pop in a Christmas DVD this afternoon to watch/listen to while I look at all the recipes that I clipped out of this year's Christmas mags. I'll keep the ones that still appeal to me and add them to my Christmas recipe file. I won't wait till Christmas to try them. I wouldn't want to make something new and have it be a flop on the actual holiday.
I may do homemade mustard as gifts this year. It's fairly inexpensive and delish. I'll have to see what else strikes me. I have a little over half of Mr OP's "50 Days to 50" gifts. I'll give the first one to him on March 31st - that's 50 day's before the big 5-0.
I'm really excited about the whole project. I think it's because it's a secret and I'm not good at keeping secrets. I have to mail the manila tags (for his "Remember When" book) out on Monday to family and friends who I haven't seen yet. I'm asking that they get them back to me by May 1st at the latest - this should give me plenty of time to put the book together.
Well my sweet friend have a wonderful weekend!

Haven't been out junking in a bit, and I'm not sure I should ever go with you or there would be a rumble in the Scrabble and games section! Actually, you collect a lot of things I love -- and I love seeing that! (the good thing about collecting Scrabble bits is that if you lose a letter, you can generally find one!)
Love it that you are having so much fun with this project, for your husband's upcoming birthday. Love it.
And he will love the results too.
But I really understand how this 'before' stuff, can be oh so much fun. -gigggles- Like you are a little girl again, and you have a delicious secret. Right? :-)

I'm going to have to start getting into Rudolph Day. Last Christmas I was just NOT into it at all and I hated feeling that way.
Perhaps this year will be different if I do things like you are and.. I do want to make some homemade gifts this year too soooooooo.... I'm in for next month.
I'm off to mark it on the March calender!
Love the 50 Days to 50 idea too! My husband will be 50 in 2013 so that gives me lot's of time to get my crap together.... :)

I've been looking for old Scrabble games and never find any!
I guess my mind is more on what I'm going to do with my garden this year than Christmas. But it's good to get an early start.
Does your hubbie read your blog? :-) I love all your organization...it's really nice to be inspired!
You are one incredibly organized gal! I would love to be a quarter as organized. Have I told you that I am so intrigued by your idea for your husband's birthday? He is soooo going to love the attention. Wonder if John would like 70 days to 70?! Not this year, but in a few...
Happy planning!
Oh.. good idea! Your right now is the time to start thinking about homemade Christmas gifts. I love the idea of 50 day of 50 gifts... My Hubs turns 49 this May... so I think (if you don't mind) I'm going to use your idea... :)
Have a great weekend!

Love the Idea that you are doing for your husband!!!!
You have found some really great things while junking, I haven't been out much but when I do I may only find one or two things.
Enjoy your weekend!!

Fun post! I always enjoy looking at others craft supplies, it's just so much fun, hehe. I found a baggie of scrabble pieces for a quarter last year at a garage sale and it just made my day! I agree with you, I like the real thing although there are lots of papers that are very realistic looking. I would LOVE to find some vintage bingo cards, that would be awesome!
Sounds like your 50 project is coming along nicely. I will have to remember this and do it for my husband... in just a few short years.
Happy Rudolph Day to you~
You are such a smartie! You have given me a ton of great ideas!
I need a bit of your creativity. Your husband will have a birthday that he will always remember.
Cool here today, but at least the sun is shining.
Enjoy your weekend.
Actually, I worked on a new Christmas notebook today. I saw this idea at eighteen25.blogspot. It is a more portable book than my 3 ring binder. It has taken awhile to do and I'll see if it is worth it after the holidays! Love your 50 gifts to 50!
Love your finds. I'll just have to start thinking like you do when I'm out thriftin' or estate salin'.
I think your afternoon sounds just lovely! Wish I was doing that myself.
Lee Ann,
Every time I see you post about Rudolph Day, I think " Geez! I forgot about it again"!
I have to try to get myself in gear to remember to do a Christmas post on the 25th of every month. Maybe if I put a sign on my computer....
Hugs,
Deb
I love the thought of a Rudolph Day every month on the 25th:-) As you know, I go to a lot of thrift shops and auctions but something I've never seen are the tart tins! Maybe you've got them all already!! hehe
I wish I was there to see your hubby's face when you start giving him the 50 Days to 50 gifts...that will be so much fun:-) xoxo
I do have to say I'm not ready to think about Christmas just yet!
Sounds like you are having fun, though.
I've nominated you for the versatile blogger award.

I love all your great ideas!
Your BD idea is fabulous! Sure he will love all 50 of them! So many interesting things to make presents with. Can't wait to see what you do with the test tubes. I have some filled with rhinestones and buttons.
I would love to be able to remember Rudolphs day every month!
I hope you share the mustard recipe with me. That sounds really good. A couple in my family are big mustard people...
Goodness you are having so much fun planning all these projects and taking care of hubby and his upcoming big birthday! Whew!
