20% off and a $10 Certificate

I just couldn't resist shopping at my local craft store this past Sunday. I had 20% off coupon for my total order (sale and clearance items included) plus a $10 certificate so I just had to go. It was like free money if you think about it:)

 

They had these cute Martha Stewart decorations on sale which I thought were a perfect decoration for my studio. Plus, if I deconstruct one then I can make my own. I'm thinking that I might make a medallion for the middles to make them more my own.

They also had these sweet little gift bags for less than a dollar a piece - cha ching! I do so love a bargain! They had a ton of color choices too.

I hope that you're not bored to tears, but here are the last of cards that I made for Valentine's Day. Linda asked me to post the photos - so blame her:)

 

We had such a relaxing weekend. The only time that we went out this weekend was to go to the market. Other than that we cleaned, crafted and did a little yard work. 

 

And, guess what? We even had a mini snow storm for Rudolph Day that lasted about 45min. It was coming down so hard, that you could hardly see. It didn't amount to anything, but sure was pretty while it lasted.

 

My fibromyalgia has been giving me fits lately. It's so weird how I can be feeling half-way decent one minute and then so crappy the next. 

 

Can you believe that March is just days away? The days are getting longer and it's finally still light out when we leave work - yeah!

 

It makes such a difference - to me at least. Next weekend the 11th we change the clocks and get an extra hour of daylight. Taking a walk after work will be so much easier. Now, since it's dark by the time we can take a walk we drive to the high school and walk under the lights. 

 

Hmmm... this shot makes the card look like it's all crooked. In reality it's not - believe me:) A lot of you said that you'd like to do something for Rudolph Day, but forget about it until I mention it. So, I'll try to remind you a week early. How's that sound? Hopefully I'll remember.

Studio Storage and Happy Rudolph Day

 

How many games of BINGO does someone need you ask? Well I buy any BINGO and Scrabble games that I see when we're out junquing. I love to use the letters and the cards for my paper crafts. A lot of new scrapbook lines make reproductions of these game pieces, but I prefer to use the real thing.

I'm always on the look out for vintage goodies like the small tart tins above. They are so easy to turn into Christmas ornies.  Speaking of Christmas...see how easily I can bring up the subject of Christmas:)

Happy Rudolph Day (the 25th of each month)! The weather has turn cold and windy again, so I'm sitting here with a hot cup of coffee while I look at my list. I'm trying to decide what handmade gifts I'll make this year.

Magical Holiday Home has a lot of great craft ideas if you're looking for something fun. Deciding early in the year makes it easier to find the items (that you'll need to create your gifts) on sale. It's also an excuse to make another list:)

 

I'll probably pop in a Christmas DVD this afternoon to watch/listen to while I look at all the recipes that I clipped out of this year's Christmas mags. I'll keep the ones that still appeal to me and add them to my Christmas recipe file. I won't wait till Christmas to try them. I wouldn't want to make something new and have it be a flop on the actual holiday.

I may do homemade mustard as gifts this year. It's fairly inexpensive and delish. I'll have to see what else strikes me. I have a little over half of Mr OP's "50 Days to 50" gifts. I'll give the first one to him on March 31st - that's 50 day's before the big 5-0.

I'm really excited about the whole project. I think it's because it's a secret and I'm not good at keeping secrets. I have to mail the manila tags (for his "Remember When" book) out on Monday to family and friends who I haven't seen yet. I'm asking that they get them back to me by May 1st at the latest - this should give me plenty of time to put the book together.

• I love peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches on fresh white bread. Haven't had one in years though.
• I break into song a lot based on what the current conversation is. The guys hate it.
• I married my middle school crush. When I was 12yrs old I told my Mum that I was going to marry him - he was a senior.
• I was teased by a group of older neighborhood boys who used to call me Leann-derthal. Later on those same boys used to love it when I walked by them to school - funny how things change.
• I'm afraid of mice to the point that I scream and stand on any piece of furniture that's close by.
• I love to use an entire sleeve of saltines in my tomato soup, so that it becomes mush. Haven't done that in years either.
• I don't like roller coasters. Mr OP had me on an old rickety one in the front car one time and that was the LAST time.
