McCoy Pot and a Vintage Wicker Self

I was going to title this post a shelf for my new pot, but thought better of it. I'm always tweaking my studio, looking for vintage items that I can use for that much needed storage space. I found this inexpensive vintage wicker shelf last week while out junquing. It fits perfectly on my "desk." It gives me more room and I can see things better if they aren't lying a flat and spread out on top of the desk. Just don't look too closely at the background though the shelf. I forgot to close the closet door... it has many storage issues.

Another of my great finds that day was this slightly "loved" cream colored McCoy pot. It still has it's original tag on it that says Newberrys. I'm assuming that it was JJ Newberys, a five and dime store, click on the name if you'd like to read some additional info on the history of JJ Newberrys.

Thanks for all the well wishes. We seem to be back on track to good health. At least that's what I'm telling myself. I was upright and went to work today so that's a check mark in the plus column. Right?

So what's new with all of you? Did you stay up until midnight and ring in the new year?

That is quite a find! With its tags still on you say? Wow. I like the way you organize using repurposed items. So glad that you are vertical. Say, how does such a keeper of Christmas do after the rush of the holidays?

Sorry you were sick. Glad you are better!

Oh yes, I remember JJ Newberys, and "five and dime" stores. :-)

I remember that store, JJ Newberry's! Gone with the wind, as they say. I always enjoyed a good five-and-dime. Now we have The Dollar Tree! Glad you are feeling better. xo

Nice finds - you did good! I don't think there was a JJ Newberry in my area. Glad you are doing much better.
Thanks for stopping by and nice comment on the necklaces.

I like that vase --a great find. And the shelf too. You do well with the things you find!

Say, can you check my blog and see if you can read it any better? I changed it, and it looks almost pure white background to me. Thanks for your help! Stay well now!

It's always a good thing when you discover something that will allow you to add more/better organize your craft collection! Cute pot, are you going to plant something in it or use it for storage too?

Love McCoy pottery and it looks great on your shelf! Lucky find! Aren't studios more fun when the things in them have a story?

Glad you are feeling better. I must read down and catch up a bit!
