My Mum is the second from the left. She was in high school when this was taken. Two of my uncles were in the service and my third uncle was newly married. My Aunt Cathy was also still in high school - love the hat that she was sporting.
I bought this family tree when Hallmark sold them, trying to bring back the memories I had from my Gram's. Now I have both and treasure them soo much. Do you see my Gram in the heart? I have a few more frames to add to the tree and would like to update some of the photos - adding our LBB of course is a number one priority.
Speaking of LBB, she and Flyboy are coming for supper on Saturday night. I'm not sure what I'm making, but it's sure to be comfort food. Something that will stick to your ribs. Although LBB is dieting for the wedding. She thinks that she won't fit into her wedding gown. My word that girl is soo tiny, she wears a size 2!
Do any of you have documented family history?

Your family trees are beautiful Leann, good that you are updating them and will be able to pass them on in your family some day. ~Diane
Oh what a wonderful, wonderful find. And how wise, that she left this family tree to you! Who value such things. :-)
No, I don't have such. And wish I had. -sigh-

“We have, as human beings, a storytelling problem.
We're a bit too quick to come up with explanations
for things we don't really have an explanation for.”
Something that sticks to the ribs? How about ribs? They were soooo good on Valentine's Day when we had them. I didn't notice that either of us gained weight. The joy of them was having them cook in the crock pot.
Now I would love a family tree like that with both sides of the family featured. I must look into finding one. We can go back to great-grandparents and on many sides, great-great grandparents and on one side all the way back to Charlemagne's time, but it's hit or miss with most of the lines. How about you?
Hi Leann--what a lovely find, I too appreciate delving into genealogy and family personal history. What I would love, in addition to names, dates and pics, is to know a little something about them, what they were like, what were their favorite things...
WEll, thanks for your visit to my blog and your kind words. Have a great weekend! ~Lorraine ♥♥♥
Hi Leann...Not too much family history documented. Well, I do have one of those Grandmother books my Mom did before she died. And I have baby books for my kids plus one when I was a baby.
Have tons of photos, though. Love displaying those. Plus, a wedding wall with lots of family wedding shots of days gone by. Wowsers, the gowns they had were something else!
Take care Leann. Susan
I have started our family history on Ancestry, and have some information in writing... I wish my mother had written things down before we lost her, and I have hardly any pictures!
Glad she gave the tree to you, since it meant so much to you. Have a good bit of info for one side of my family, and not a lot for the other.
Enjoy your weekend.
I love those trees. I'm happy that you found your Grandmothers-that's so special. :)
Size 2???? For sure make something fattening. ;P

Those are so pretty -- and so meaningful. I don't have anything like that, although the house is filled with photos of all generations -- I guess I have the family shelves! How lovely to be able to go back so far. A real treasure.
I actually saw on Facebook yesterday something called a "Family Wreath". It was really nice too! I bet you could make something like it.
