Loving my new Magnolia Pearl book!

I am totally smitten with my new book "A bit of Velvet & a Dash of Lace" by Robin Brown. The photos are gorgeous. I love how she uses so many layers in her decorating to create a feeling of comfort and warmth.

Some of it is a little to shabby for me, but I love seeing how she puts things together. It gives me such great inspiration to add my own spin on her ideas. I LOVE books like this!

Robin talks about her parents and her entire childhood. She is a huge re-purposer and has even started her own clothing line.

Speaking of clothing, I've begun an on-line search for an outfit for Flyboy and LBB's wedding. I want to print out a few styles that I like to start, before actually going to a real store - I'm dreading it. I really don't like to try on and buy clothes. I'd much rather buy some cool junque for the house and just order my clothes on-line.

Alley has been keeping me company in my studio lately. She whines until I make room for her on the chair behind my work
table. I don't have to pay attention to her, she just wants to be near me I guess. She's getting a lot of white in her face and it makes me realize that she's getting older. We got her and her brother Dexter when Flyboy was in grade school (he'll graduate from college in May). We had to put Dexter down almost 8 years ago.

How about Punxsutawny Phil and his prediction for an early spring?! I'm really ready for it to come this year, I've got a lot of plans for the garden. How about you?

I do have lots of plans, though spring will arrive there long before she arrives here.

Your book looks delightful. Do you sit in a comfy chair sipping tea and dreaming?

All the best with finding a beautiful dress perfectly suited to you for the wedding. As a blond, do you find yourself wearing a lot of blue?

Hi Leann...Yeah, spring can come as soon as it wants as far as I'm concerned.

Every year I say I want to have herbs but every summer goes by and I don't. Maybe this summer....

I want lots of pink flowers for the window boxes and containers in the front yard.

Got a new birdie bath and will look forward to the fountain being unpacked from winter's ravages.

Love your book. Looks like a good one. Susan

I wish you lots of luck, with looking for a dress for the wedding. !!!!! I'm the same, don't like shopping for clothes. Do it on the Net.

But this is super, to find out what style/color/etc. resonates with you. And then, go out and find it around your neck of the woods, so you can try it on and all.

Such fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also do not like to shop and try on clothes. I recently went thru dealing with that for my Grand's wedding. I have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. :-D
I also am looking forward to Spring - no plans for the courtyard yet - needs a good clean out at this point.
Enjoy your evening.
