What makes a Happy Home? I love to take care of my family. For me, creating a home that is warm and inviting, where everyone feels welcome is pure joy! The smell of fresh laundry just in off the clothesline, a neat and tidy home and garden, a good home cooked meal, a few desserts here and there, the love of family, friends and fellowship all help to make our home a Happy Home. Romance in the Kitchen

I decided to use my small white feather tree in the kitchen for Valentine's Day this year. Instead of decorating it with the vintage pink mercury glass beads I draped them out of my Mother's cup, and left the German spun cotton mushrooms as the only decorations.

The sun was shining so brightly today, perfect for taking photos. It seemed almost too bright since the last few days have been so dark and dreary. I'm not complaining though - no way!

By the way, Happy Friday! I'm so excited that the weekend is almost here. I plan on doing a bit of nesting and cleaning this weekend. Then, of course there's the Super Bowl! I do like to watch football. It stems from being a cheerleader I guess. It's the only sport that I really like to watch on TV, beside the Olympic sports.

I like to plan Super Bowl food too. I've got a few ideas running around in my head, nothing out of the ordinary though... a dip, chicken wings or hot roast beef sandwiches, some veggies or coleslaw and maybe some potato salad or macaroni salad. I like to make things that can be prepared ahead of time, so that when the game is on I don't have to be in the kitchen.

One last thing, I'd like to ask for prayers for a friend of mine. Her husband was put on hospice care last Friday and she's not doing well. Thank you.

Leann,
I will pray for your friend and her husband right now, too.
Your profile picture is so pretty!
I don't even know what time the Super Bowl is on....wait, it's usually like dinner time Sunday. I'm in bed before it's over, and when I was single never even turned it on!

So pretty. I still have my pink tree in the bathroom and was thinking of moving it to the kitchen through Valentine's Day -- I miss all the lights! This is awfully fu!

Hang in there, my friend. I send prayers and good thoughts.
